Ms. Bass has transitioned her private practice to focus on Estate Planning and Estate Administration to help families avoid the problems she spent years litigating. Counselor Bass firmly believes that a solid estate plan is the key to family preservation, lasting legacy and generational wealth.
Previously, Ms. Bass successfully represented a broad range of clients in Real Estate Litigation - including large housing developers, property management companies, and residential and commercial property owners and landlords of all sizes. With the vision of complete representation on a matter, Ms. Bass undertook all counterpart litigation in Housing Court, the State Supreme Court, Local Civil Courts, and City and State agencies.
The Bass Law Group has proudly and successfully served thousands of clients since 2006 across Suffolk County, Nassau County & New York City.
About Alyson Bass:
Ms. Bass grew up in Suffolk County and graduated high school at the top of her class in 1994. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University in 1998. From there Ms. Bass worked in Clinical Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Merck & Co., Inc., where her passion for public service met with a newly sparked interest in regulatory law and ethics. On full academic scholarship, Ms. Bass attended St. John's University School of Law in her then transplanted home of Queens County and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2006. Ms. Bass currently resides in Suffolk County.
Ms. Bass is an Office of Court Administration approved Fiduciary for the State of New York Unified Court System eligible for appointment as a Property Manager, Licensed Real Estate Broker and Foreclosure Referee in Suffolk, Nassau, Kings, and Queens Counties. She also is a Court Roster Mediator in Suffolk County Surrogate's Court.
In 2024, Ms. Bass was appointed to serve in the General Counsel's Office of Suffolk County Water Authority. Previous appointments include the prestigious appointment as a Special Master to assist the Honorable Lyle Frank in New York County State Supreme Court (2022-2023). She also was appointed Principal Assistant County Attorney for the County of Suffolk and from 2022 - 2023 served the County's Law Enforcement agencies as their Municipal Counsel.
Additionally, Ms. Bass serves her community as it is called upon her. In 2024, Ms. Bass was appointed as the Law Chair for the Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee and is the Community Liaison for the Women's Caucus. She also serves as Treasurer to Sound Justice Initiative - a not for profit organization that provides liberal arts education and re-entry services for Justice Involved Persons. In 2023, she was the party endorsed Candidate for Brookhaven Town Council, District 3 and for several years served as the Vice President for the Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce.
On January 23, 2024, Ms. Bass was sworn in by the NYS Attorney General, Letitia James, as the 2024 President of Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association. In March 2024, The Brookhaven Town Democratic Women's Caucus named Ms. Bass "Woman of the Year."
In her spare time, Ms. Bass enjoys spending time with her family and 3 little Shih Tzus.
